Angora goats produce mohair, a lustrous fiber used in fashion and upholstery and occasionally in high end carpeting. The hair is regularly sheared from the goat and then is sorted, washed and combed into a continous bundle of fiber called "top." Mohair top is spun into thread or yarn, depending on the final application, and is used in knitting or weaving.
